To all my fellow doggies and mateys alike, yes yes, we have indeed been absent..but all's good. We miss being able to blog too, but I can't deny I love my sleep too much for my own good. Is this me ageing? Nah, can't be, can it? I'm only 9 this year! Hehehhee.
I, Brandy am still happily wrestling with Whiskey everyday, going for my walks twice a day, having goood foooooood (and yes, the boring kibble), enduring weekly baths and doing those horrible tricks for those wonderful treats. Yuppp. Oh and don't forget that occasional rawhide I get. I LIVE for those. Whiskey doesn't apparently..I get hers. =P

DWB certainly is a very busy world, and all my pals are surely very busy too. Don't forget the hoomans. Hammies are busy hide and seeking, some doggies playing with clicker boxes, happily reunting with their families, having fun in bathrooms!, having vaccinations, visiting pet stores, painting for charity, having no internet connection!, making new friends, enjoying spa treatments!, performing easy to tough tricks, colourfying their blogs with True Colours! and Wordless Wednesday pics!

Us? We're keeping our paws crossed for Bogart's daddy, and wishing hard our hooman wasn't so busy all the time. But she obviously wasn't busy enough to NOT sneak in some tablets in my kibbles, I saw!

Today also happens to be Whiskey's birthday, but we don't really celebrate. She just got an extra yummy dinner and a promise of some sausages tomorrow! I can't wait for my turn!

And! We officiated a new ball today. I kinda ripped up our brown football ball.

Recently, a local TV channel aired this. It is on the cruelty towards stray cats and dogs at a pound in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. Please, take a moment to go through the video.

THEY had gone to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) animal pound in Setapak to protest against the alleged brutal killing of dogs and cats there but animal activists were not prepared for what they stumbled upon in the vicinity of the premises.

Thrown into uncovered pits, about six feet in both width and depth, were the rotting carcasses of dogs that had been killed at the pound.

“We cannot tolerate such cruelty and are totally against it,’’ said Rosnah Hassan, who burst into tears after seeing the graves.

Elaine Kong added that a better method should be used to terminate the lives of strays as well as dispose of their remains.

The crowd had gathered at the pound in reaction to the visuals shown over the TV3 programme 360° last Wednesday night.

The visuals, which were captured by a hidden camera, showed a pound worker dragging a dying dog with a loop around its neck whilst another terrified dog watched the ‘execution’ as it waited for its turn.

DBKL health department director Dr Zainol Ariffin Pawanchee who was at the pound to meet the protesters was bombarded with questions by the angry crowd.

The 360° programme anchor Mazidul Akmal Sidek, who was also there, told Dr Zainol Ariffin that the visuals showed the dog still breathing when being yanked around by the neck.

Dr Zainol Ariffin, who neither denied nor admitted to the mishap, apologised to the crowd for the trauma they had undergone after watching the visuals.

He said the dogs were caught and brought to the pound by two private companies which were paid RM30 per dog captured.

He added euthanising the dogs and disposing of the carcasses were carried out by DBKL employees.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail said he had asked Dr Zainol Ariffin to explain the matter to him.

“Apparently, the landfills have refused to take the carcasses and we don’t have an incinerator as it is very expensive,’’ Ahmad Fuad said.

He added that he would look into the matter as he wanted dogs to be caught, euthanised and buried according to the guidelines provided.

Besides holding placards which condemned the alleged brutal killings, the 50-odd activists also lit candles outside the pound in remembrance of all the animals killed there.

They also adopted four dogs and seven puppies from the pound after paying a nominal compound.

The gathering was initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative’s (CDII) canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better.

We really don't know what to say anymore. The said TV channel had another show about the same matter today, and really, sometimes you just wonder, how is it possible to be that cruel?

Unfortunately, hot day equals bath day. And we didn't get wiped dry because some great hooman decided to bathe us with tickwash as well.

This cake is an offering for the gods, because it will sweeten the tongue of the god, who goes back to heaven to report on the family. Heheh. But it sure is yummy too!

We tried out this new treat called P'nutz, and they're pretty yummy!

Its New Year's Eve!

First up, apologies from us for not commenting on all your bloggies, Blogger seems to be acting up and won't allow the comment box to pop up, grr!

Remember I said my hooman was off to her hometown, WITHOUT me? Well, I didn't kick up a fuss, (nor did I sue her) because.., BECAUSE, of this!

She got us one HUUUGGGE bag of yummy rawhide! I told her to keep it for me cuz I was afraid I would chew them all up in a day!

So, what are my pals doing to celebrate the new year?

No, it's not the beginning of a bad joke, but the tale of a shoplifting pooch in Utah.

The K-9 caper took place at Smith's Food & Drug Store in Murray.

"I've never seen him shop in here before; brand new customer," the manager said. "Didn't even have his Fresh Value card."

After checking out a girl in the checkout lane, the dog went straight to aisle 16. The dog food aisle.

"He knew where he was headed," the manager said.

He grabbed a rawhide bone, only to be confronted by the manager.

"I looked at him," the manager said. "I said, 'Drop it!' I decided I wanted to keep all my fingers, so I didn't try to take it from him. He looked at me and I looked at him and he ran for the door and away he went. Right out the front door."

He's still at large, presumably enjoying his bone, which was valued at $2.79.

Police have issued an APB for the missing mutt - an All Pooch Bulletin.

In Remembrance Of The 2004 Tsunami Victims

Today is the 26th, Boxing Day.

4 years after the horrible tsunami happened and killed hundreds of thousands of people, and our furry friends too.

After all the exciting festivities, let us spare a minute or two for the victims and families of the tsunami.

Let us say our prayers and be grateful for those around us, our friends and our family, and that includes the hoomans too.

WHISKEY...is one interesting STORY!

So today, she went out of the house compund, although I warned her against it.

She couldn't resist.

She got out, but she couldn't come back in, hahah!

So she had to wait there till the hooman let her in, and then Whiskey proceeded to tell us what happened out there.

Apparently she met this fat cat who couldn't be bothered by her presence.

THEN, in the afternoon, she decided that the hooman's sandal looked delicious.

And so the chewing began.

But since her teefies are sooo...you know,.....there wasn't much damage, so I thought she wouldn't be blamed.

BUT! She got caught RED-PAWED!

In the evening, this is what happened.She got stuck in there. But she's stubborn and says its comfy. You trust her?

I can stop making a huge fuss now!
My hooman is back, equals to WE'RE back!
So, once again, our apologies for not making our presence felt in your bloggies.
And thanks for not forgetting us during the period when our hooman completely ABANDONED us and left us to ROT.

Hooman's note: They're just exaggerating!

So, in the past weeks, we did quite a lot of things, actually, I guess we weren't COMPLETELY abandoned!

We had yummylicious SAUSAGES, of which I only got HALF a sausage, (SOOO unfair!), and yet I still had to pose with it. Grr.

JUST SAY OK!

Maybe I wasn't the only one!

And then, we got our KONG!

Stuffed with biscuits and some cereal and bone-shaped biscuits, then sealed off with p-butter! We had a few rounds of it actually, even one freezed with some yummy tasting liquid and carrot pieces!

The sad part was, I had to SHARE.

Ohh, and our hooman saw this Lorenza look-alike when she went to Penang! I must say its kinda cute, but I for one, certainly wouldn't want anyone to be sitting on my back! Oof!

Whiskey came home safely yesterday, sorry for the late update, we were busy wrestling again!

Brandy here again..
Whiskey is still at the clinic, and like Booker and Happy said, she is probably traumatised.
Although she still has occasional bouts of shivering, on the bright side the docs said that she ate last night, which is a good sign.
I wish I can go give her a hug right now.

Bad news...

Hey all, Brandy here.
Whiskey was pretty smart today and had an accident.
SOMEHOW, she got herself stuck in a hole but our hooman managed to get her out easily.
BUT!
She was shivering and didn't look ok, so she was sent to the vet.
Currently, she's at the clinic under observation, so she should be okay, she had to go for a blood test and what nots, but she is said to be fine now...still, keep her in your thoughts won't ya!
*Sobs*
I miss her already.
Let's hope she'll be back soon!

Well, since we were SO LOST in the blogosphere lately, and did not get to check our mails, blog, etc...we FINALLY saw Lenny's Bone Relay video today. Believe me, it is DA HAWTEST BOMB EVER!!! Hello all! Sorry for the absence! My hooman was verry busy with what she calls "preparations" for whatever it is she has to prepare for! And bad news, she'll be "preparing" her heart out some more for the next two weeks!

For the past few days, we have been chewing chewing and chewing. It may seem boring to you but I could do it for the whole day! (With walkies in between!)

Well, just the other day my hooman bought us some rawhide! This is me with my HUGE bone! (The BIGGER, the BETTER!) See my happy face?
And this is Whiskey with her pathetically tiny bone.( Don't tell her I said that! She thinks its huge too!) She looks kinda bored, I guess she doesn't fancy chewing that much, I must say she's weird.

And this is me, kinda wet after my bath but I refused to budge...The bone was too...(drool) delish!

To the Park, and Beyond!

Today Whiskey and I went to the park..just strolling by

On the way, we saw these furiously angry looking doggies...This one looked particularly crazy, running left and right non-stop!

There were many, many, many, many things to sniff at!

sniff sniff sniff...(brandy: HEY! where's my head?)

We passed by a house full of GRASS! Looks so tempting to run through!
oh la la, the grass!!!

Then, we passed by this overturned dustbin! Which by the way, isn't my fault! The deed was done! i didn't do this!

Finally, we reached the park!

phew!

Then, we started playing ball! Well, mostly Whiskey did!

Our favourite squeaky ball!

I also did some of my regular exercise, aka BackScratcher! Whiskey decided to join me after a while, after seeing how ENJOYING it is. You doggies out there should try it one day!

For all faint-hearted doggies and hammies out there, the picture below may induce dizziness, minor migraines, vomit, disgustedness, sudden blindness and other unknown symptoms yet to be discovered.

Hello everyone!

Do u guys enjoy playing Monopoly? Sometimes i get really bored with my kingdom and play Monopoly with my Hoomans instead.

Well, guess what? The Monopoly people are creating this new thingy, called Monopoly World Edition: Here and Now! Isn't that so cool??? I would definitely love for TheGreatland to be listed, but on the other hand, i wouldn't want my land to be overcrowded, you know what i mean?? So, anyway, I am so voting for Kuala Lumpur to be listed as one of the cities!

Here are a few reasons why we love KL!

1. THE FOOOOOD!!! There's loads of food here that we like, namely BakKutTeh pork bones!

GUESS WHAT???Mmm, for dinner today, Chivas and I had delicious Angel Hair Pasta with Minced Chicken, and unfortunately kibble. I insisted on licking up the wet food can, but my human was afraid I would get cuts. AS IF! Hmm...Oh well, actually, we don't mind the kibble..we're too hungry! But don't you think that pasta would taste so much nicer without kibble with it? Haiz...imagine life without DOG KIBBLE.

Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself.. I am BRANDY THE GREAT!

Now, take a look at pretty me, and half of my sis, Whiskey! Don't you think my eyes are SOOOOOO you-know??? Just look at me, and let me hypnotiZe you. .

Hee hee hee!!! Now, let me introduce you to my sisters!

This here,

is Whiskey, she is a five year-old tri-colour Shih Tzu. She does OB and Agility, but takes it slow and steady. She prefers going for walks just like me! Among all my sisters, she's closest to me as we've known each other since we were young. She can be rather fierce when it comes to food, so take my advice and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STEAL HER FOOD WHATSOEVER!

Next, is Chivas Regal! She is a GSD from Indonesia, but speaks English. She decided to change her name to Chivas shortly after arriving in Malaysia. Previously, she was called Debby. Shh, don't tell her but Whiskey and I think that Debby sounds very funny! hey! that RHYMES! See, told you I'm a good rhymer! Anyways, back to Chivas, she is my GOOD GOOD FRIEND. Ok, I'll admit it, the reason why I like her is, oh man, this is so embarassing...I like bullying her and she lets me bully her! HMPFH! Chivvy likes playing ball, especially squeaky balls and tennis balls! She has destroyed AT LEAST 5 balls already! Haihz, what a total complete waste of money! I mean, instead of having to buy new balls, we could buy rawhide!!!!!!! UrGH!!

Rum! She's a good one for me to bully too! Rum is a few years old Pomeranian with a brownish blackish coat. Her favorite pose is this

She can stay like that for more than 20 mins! Everyone thinks she's cute, but neh, i think i'm cuter! heHehE!!

Then, there's JD! Whiskey is her mother. JD is Black and White. You know, Yin Yang?? She enjoys soft toys and playing in the dirt! She has albino eyes, haha! That is, the area around her eyes are white!

Next, Chard'ny! She's the one on the right, while on the left is RemyMartin, my teenyweeny pal.

Chard'ny is short for Chardonnay. She's a tricolored shihTzu, just like Whiskey, except that she's the complete opposite in terms of character. To me, she is seriously one active dog. A rascal, she is. Chard'ny is definitely up to my standards though, when it comes to close combat aka bullying. Tee hee hee!
